Background:
A city cannot become a smart city until all stakeholders take it seriously and act upon it. Among the stakeholders the role of police is inevitably very critical to make any city safe and smart at the same time. In this regard, important milestones must have been achieved by the Ghaziabad police as well, and therefore Ghaziabad also falls in a list of Smart Cities in India.
The workshop will be organized on 11th July 2020, and will mark World Population Day. A day which brings the centrality of the role of women in human existence. However, the workshop will broaden the horizon, and it will be an opportunity to let all stakeholders know the great synergies between Police and Community in Ghaziabad and make the city more inclusive and a better place to live.
The workshop will certainly fulfill one of the objectives of World Population Day that is to empower both young boys and girls on matters involving resilience of the self and the family via organizing Police Public Partnerships.
The overall objective of Police Public Partnerships is to provide a platform to all stakeholders and tackle the Information Entropy which exists as a part of our social life. By, Information Entropy, it is meant, the uncertainties or premonitions that might exist between various persons as a result of their varied circumstances they are in. The current pandemic has only increased our uncertainties only further, therefore it must be our resolve to make our ties at the local level even stronger. In short, this workshop seeks to make Ghaziabad more resilient by bringing persons closer.
The platform of Police Public Partnerships allows all stakeholders to come together and have a free flow of correct information. It allows all stakeholders to share their side of the story, demands and what needs to be done to meet those demands. The discussion will be aided with specific inputs from practitioners and academicians on board.
This particular workshop is themed on Gender perspectives. Under this theme, importance of police and policing and their significant contributions pre-covid and during covid time will be discussed, and, accomplishments celebrated!!
Of course, at the same time the strategies and better practices will be discussed to make the policing more effective and helpful during current and post-covid times. The specific role of communities/RWAs in making policing more effective in Ghaziabad will be discussed as well.
